Confused by the process of finding and securing new web addresses
I am fairly new to the technical side of starting a website and I find the whole domain acquisition process quite opaque. There are so many registrars and search tools out there that I honestly do not know which data to trust or how the sequence actually functions. I am worried about typing my ideas into a random site and having them stolen or being shown incorrect info. Can someone explain the standard way to verify if a name is truly free and the best way to move forward once I find one?

Starting out is always a bit overwhelming but the logic behind it is actually quite straightforward once you see it in action. If you want to understand how Domains Available works https://domainsavailable.now/ it basically involves querying a central registry to see if a name is currently tied to an owner. This ensures you are looking at live data rather than old records. I highly recommend reading through their documentation to get a better handle on the registration steps.
